Some Testing and Inspection equipment is selected for this most affordable option. Serviced equipment is cleaned, serviced to a functional level, cycled and when applicable ASTM certified. Although fully operational, this equipment may not always meet all the original manufacturers performance specification. A 30-day return privilege is provided for serviced equipment.


Reconditioned Testing and Inspection equipment is returned to its original manufacturers performance specifications both mechanically and electronically. Original equipment replacement parts are typically used for this purpose. Other repairs are accomplished with our highly skilled supplier base and in-house technical staff. With the completion of painting and when applicable ASTM certification, this equipment is ready for the customers final inspection and training. A one (1) year parts and labor written warranty is provided with reconditioned equipment.


Today most customers require the power, speed and accuracy of a microprocessor or computer (PC) based materials testing system. We continue to offer the affordable Digital Indicator, Analysis and Control microprocessors. The most powerful and flexible computer controlled PC Windows based system is available for the most demanding of testing applications.


Properly maintained older electro-mechanical or hydraulic testing load frames will last for decades. Typically, their design specifications far exceed the intended frame load capacity. What has changed in the past decade are the increased reliability and accuracy of the electronic indicating systems, increased test result documentation and report format requirements and more detailed analysis, all in less time! A cost effective Frank Bacon Renew/MTESTQuattro™ load frame upgrade will improve the Testing Systems’ reliability, accuracy and productivity. The MTEST upgrades are available as a Data Acquisition system and as a Data Acquisition system with computer servo control. On the servo control upgrades your electronic controls are replaced on both electromechanical and hydraulic load frames. On hydraulic servo frames we generally replace the existing hydraulic console with a new state of the art Servo Hydraulic Power Supply.


At Frank Bacon, we understand that everyone may not need the power of a PC based Tension and Compression Testing System. Therefore, we offer two high quality low cost Digital Indicator systems for your testing needs.
The Pi Peak Load Indicator is a single channel Load, Stress and Load Rate Indicator for tension or compression testing and with optional auxiliary channels collects data values for ASTM C469 Modulus & Poisson’s Ratio results. The system can store up to 2000 tests and output results to permanent memory, print the results with the optional USB Printer/Flash Drive Port on a HP PCL5 compatible printer or upload these results into the optional GageSafe Data Exchange software program on your computer for Modulus & Poisson’s Ratio calculations & data management.

The eP2 Digital Controller performs mechanical tests on materials, products and components. It is a presettable unit that operates both electromechanical and servo hydraulic testing systems. The eP2 The eP2 Digital Controller performs can also be used to retrofit/upgrade virtually any manufactures testing machine regardless of age or machine type. It is a less expensive and easier to use alternative to PC based materials testing systems and is capable of performing tests in tension, compression, bend and torsion. The eP2 features load and crosshead position inputs plus enhanced closed loop servo control capabilities for accurate and repeatable testing. An optional axial strain input channel can be added for accommodating extensometry.
Combining the eP2 controller with the PC based GaugeSafe Data Exchange software makes it easy to create and store unlimited number of test methods; save, export and print test results including stress vs. strain curves; import results and XY data into common spreadsheet and database programs for further analysis and reporting.

Both options are equipped with a PC, monitor, printer and MTESTQuattro Controller and Software.
